Inspection & Maintenance Schedules
Inspection, internal maintenance, and hydrostatic testing serve different purposes. Your equipment type, manufacturer instructions, and service history determine what is due.

Annual Inspection
Annual fire extinguisher inspections for commercial facilities and multifamily properties. We check condition, placement, and service needs. All Safe holds California OSFM Type B, C, D, and F licenses.
When required: Every 12 months — required by California Code of Regulations, Title 19
- Pressure gauge check, where fitted
- Pull pin and tamper seal
- Hose and nozzle condition
- Cylinder condition and readable labels
- Mounting height and accessibility compliance
- Extinguisher type suited to each space

Refilling & Recharging
Send the make, model, and condition of your extinguishers. We’ll confirm recharge options.
When required: After any use — including partial discharge during testing or an incident
- Confirm the model can be serviced
- Recharge to manufacturer specifications
- Check required parts and extinguishing agent
Even a brief discharge requires a full recharge before reuse.
6-Year Maintenance
Internal inspection and recharging for extinguishers on a six-year service cycle. Not every model needs this service; we check the type and history first.
When required: At the applicable interval for the extinguisher type
- Discharge and disassemble
- Inspect the cylinder and internal parts
- Replace worn or damaged parts
- Recharge and date-stamp
- Review upcoming service dates
Internal maintenance is separate from the annual inspection.
Hydrostatic Testing
A pressure test checks the cylinder’s strength. The required interval varies by extinguisher type. We review markings and service history to identify when testing is due.
When required: According to the equipment's applicable testing schedule
- Pressure-test the cylinder with specialized equipment
- Date-stamp cylinders that pass
- Remove and replace failed cylinders
- Provide written test results

Sales & New Construction
Extinguisher sales and installations for commercial buildings, multifamily developments, and new construction. We work with contractors and property teams before occupancy.
When required: New construction, certificate of occupancy, and expansion projects
- Equipment for single buildings and larger projects

- Mount and place units to NFPA 10 travel distance requirements
- Provide records for occupancy inspections
